Comment Attended the Last Post Ceremony with a group of friends from the Great War Forum. 9th March 2009. As always a simple but thought provoking and moving ceremony. Remembering the men from Barwick in Elmet and Scholes, near Leeds who still lie out in the Salient.

Comment I, unfortunately have not yet been to see this ceremony, and may never will. I was sent a link to this site from a new friend in Brugge. I personally will always remember those who died for our freedom. Perhaps if more people were to remember what a horrible time in history this was, we would have fewer "conflicts" world wide. As a proud Canadian, on November 11, every year I proudly wear my poppy in rememberance of our family members of this time. I wish to extend my thanks to you for keeping the memory, of those who died, alive! "Lest we Forget"

Thank you!

Comment My first visit to Ieper was in May 2000 as guests of the Kiwanis Club of Tabakstreet-Wervik. I have always allowed time to attend the Last Post ceremony whenever possible and I am proud to serve as an unofficial 'ambassador' for the City of Ieper and the Last Post ceremony. I have attended six ceremonies since my first visit, at different times of the year and I have been impressed by the number of people who come to pay their respects.

Comment I vistited last year with a school group and was very moved. I think remembering everyday is a very good idea and I am sure that all of the men we are remembering are grateful for us remembering. I am very greatful of what they did for us.
