Comment The band performed at the ceremony on 30 6 09 and we were grateful to take part and not just march and play hymns but also to lay two wreaths on behalf of the band members who fought and also those men of newry who fought ,it was a humbling experience for me to see all the names and respect the men who have honoured those men every day since the ceremony started thank you

Comment We attended the ceremony on Saturday June 13th and 2 of our pupils had the honour of laying a wreath on behalf of the school and the Huntly Ex-Servicemen's Club. I felt great pride in their dignity whilst laying the wreath.
The whole ceremony was extremely moving and it should remain as a constant reminder against the futility of war but of the bravery of those who have given their lives in comflict.

Comment I was aware of this ceremony but had no real concept of the impact it has, when you attend personally. It is much more than a wonderful tribute to those thousands who died in the terrible conflict of 1914-18. It is a poignant reminder of the personal tragedy of war and the ultimate price paid by so many young antecedents of ourselves. The silent respect shown during the ceremony is very moving and makes the past very present,

Comment I've attended the ceremony 5 times in the last eighteen months and layed a wreath for Private J Mulalley (Panel 42 of the gate) on two occasions.

For my fortieth birthday my mother in law paid foe my family history to be looked into. I've now been made aware that a Great Great Uncle rests in Bard Cemetery close to Ieper and I never knew he was there. Another teenager slaughtered.

See you soon Ieper I'll be back for my Uncle.

Comment There are no words to describe the sacrifice the people of Britain and its Empire made. 'Honour' may be the only word worthy of their memory, there can be no greater compliment to their memory.

I pray God protect the Gate and the spirits of those men that fell in the Great War. The Kingdom of Heaven is the only place they cannot be hurt now.

From a very grateful history student from the Kingdom they fought for - God save them all.
