Wouldn't it be lovely if there was a videolink through this site to the Menin Gate every night then people from all over the world could join those at the Last Post ceremony.

It was an amazing opportunity for me to see The Last Post Ceremony tonight and I find it truely moving that this ceremony still takes place after all these years. Thank you very much Last Post Association for all your work so that it is still possible to be seen even today, almost 100 years later. May all the brave soldiers rest in peace and know that they are still remembered for their incredible sacrifices.

It was and honour and a privilege to take part in the Last Post ceremony on 21/10/11 something I will remember for the rest of my life. Listening to the Last Post being played was a very emotional and moving and I found it hard to hold back the tears. Hopefully I will be back to see the ceremony again.

This was a privilege and honor to view the Memorial Wall at the Menin Gate on 25 Sept 2011 and Last Post ceremony, The Last Post played by The Regimental Band of the Scots Guards brings a tear and sense of belonging, "They indeed will not grow old as we grow old". Bless the Last Post Association for making it possible to share in this lasting debt of gratitude which we all owe to the men who fought and fell for us all.

In Memory of my great, great uncle Lt Ralph. D. Doughty. MC. who had served as a gunner in WWI in the A.I.F. He was wounded in action at Passchendaele, Belgium, on the 23rd July 1917 when he sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was admitted to the 91st Field Ambulance Station. He did not recover from his wounds and died two days later at the age of 26.

Ralph was laid to rest at Coxyde Military Cemetery, Plot I, Row F, Grave No 20, Belgium. Remembered by all the family.
As with every Australian and New Zealander, each year our fallen servicemen and servicewoman are remembered for the sacrifice that they have made. And we can only gain the utmost respect for every service person that is prepared to put themselves in harms way so that others may live without fear or tyranny.

Well done once again to the Association for the 2nd Tattoo, a huge success. The ceremony at the Menin Gate afterwards was impressive as always, The addition of The Scots Guards and their music was a privilege to be present for. My father served in Ypres in 1917 with the RASC.

In Loving Memory of Pvte. A.L. Powell,757707, KIA 30Oct1917 in Paschendeale while serving with the 78th Btn CEF. Had the privilege and honor to view the Memorial Wall at the Menin Gate on 21 July 2011 and Last Post ceremony. What an awesome site and ceremony for which I thank all those responsible. Pvte Powell was my namesake and I am honored to bear his name.
